Benefits Of Drinking Coffee In The Morning
Below are some of the benefits of coffee in the morning. These are just for plain, regular coffee, not for the superfood enriched coffee I’m talking about here. So, assume you’ll get all of these benefits as well as the extra special benefits offered by ‘Before You Speak’ coffee.
Drinking coffee in the morning benefits:
Increased alertness: Coffee contains caffeine, a stimulant that can help improve alertness and wakefulness. It can help you feel more awake and focused, which can be particularly beneficial in the morning when you may be feeling groggy or sluggish.
Enhanced cognitive function: Research suggests that caffeine can improve various aspects of cognitive function, including attention, memory, and reaction time. Drinking coffee in the morning may help you think more clearly and perform better on mental tasks.
Mood booster: Everyone knows someone who is not quite themselves before their morning cup of coffee! That’s because coffee consumption has been associated with a positive impact on mood. It can potentially increase feelings of well-being, happiness, and even reduce the risk of depression.
Boosted metabolism: Coffee has been shown to slightly increase metabolism and fat burning. This effect may help with weight management over time, although it is important to note that the impact is relatively modest. (Unless you’re drinking coffee with metabolism boosting benefits as offered by Before You Speak coffee).
Antioxidant source: Coffee contains numerous antioxidants, such as chlorogenic acid, which can help protect against cellular damage caused by free radicals. Antioxidants have been linked to various health benefits, including a reduced risk of certain diseases.
Lowered risk of certain conditions: Research suggests that regular coffee consumption may be associated with a decreased risk of developing certain conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, liver disease, and certain types of cancer.
Social and cultural aspects: For many people, enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning is a part of their daily routine and can have positive social and cultural connotations. It can provide a sense of comfort, relaxation, and even serve as a social lubricant when shared with others.
It is worth noting that the effects of coffee can vary from person to person, and some individuals may be more sensitive to the stimulating effects of caffeine and some may even experience negative side effects.
It’s important to consume coffee in moderation and be aware of your individual tolerance and any potential adverse effects.
Additionally, the benefits of coffee can be offset by added sugar, cream, or excessive consumption, so it’s advisable to keep your coffee choices as healthy as possible – which is where these coffee with benefits come in from Before You Speak Coffee!
Before You Speak Coffee Review
Before I let you know about my own personal experience with Before You Speak Coffee, I think you should know that I’m actually not a very big coffee drinker! I know that’s a shock to a lot of coffee addicts out there but, frankly, I can take it or leave it and, more often than not, I will leave it!
I don’t really like the bitter taste of coffee that so many of you seem to crave. I love the smell of it and the idea of drinking a nice warm, comforting drink, but not so much the taste.
I have, however, trained myself to drink the occasional weak coffee from our new Nespresso machine and I have come to quite enjoy that experience. So, when I read about these magical coffees from Before You Speak Coffee, I was so intrigued by the concept that I knew I just had to try some despite not really being a ‘coffee person’.
I decided to purchase a sample selection of their coffees as well as a pack of the ‘Thermo’ coffee designed to help with focus, energy and shredding (fat I assume). Having recently moved house, some extra focus and energy would be very useful, and who doesn’t want to easily shred some fat by drinking some coffee?
This morning I was excited to give the Thermo coffee a try. This coffee is infused with L-Carnitine and minerals in the effort to help with fat metabolism and energy production. I know all about L-Carnitine because of my very athletic son (read gym junkie) who has been taking L-Carnitine as a supplement for a while now.
Yes, his body looks amazing, but then he does spend a lot of time in the gym as well as supplementing his diet with extra protein and Carnitine supplements. But, who knows, maybe this coffee infused with L-Carnitine will help me to achieve similar results?
Preparing a cup of this superpower coffee is incredibly simple (even easier than a Nespresso pod) because it’s instant coffee! Simply put the contents of the sachet into a cup and then pour boiling water from the kettle on top!
Give it a stir and the coffee is ready! I like milk in my coffee so I added some to make it a bit lighter in colour, closer to my usual preferred weak coffee.
Then I had the pleasure of enjoying my Thermo Coffee with my regular morning breakfast of vegemite on toast!
So, what does it taste like? No, it doesn’t taste like a regular cup of coffee. But, at least to me, that’s not necessarily a bad thing!
It tastes sweeter than regular coffee (even though I purchased the unsweetened variety – and I’m glad I did as I can’t stand artificial sweeteners or even ‘natural’ sweeteners that aren’t sugar). My first thoughts were caramel and tiramisu!
Don’t get me wrong, you can still taste the coffee, in fact it even gives that bitter coffee taste that most of you seem to like, but there is a definite undertone of caramel and then there is something that reminds me of tiramisu – no big surprise there as tiramisu is a coffee based dessert.
To be honest, in my first couple of mouthfuls, I wasn’t sure if I liked it. But then it was almost as though the flavours developed more with each mouthful and, before I knew it, I had finished the whole cup, and quite enjoyed it.
In fact I’m already looking forward to tomorrow’s morning cup of coffee!
As for the extra health benefits on offer, I can’t really comment on that after just one drink, but I certainly haven’t had less energy than normal today so maybe we’re on to something?!
If I notice anything regarding the benefits in the future months of drinking this coffee, I’ll be sure to come back and let you know below but, for now, I’m just excited by the possibilities of what this ‘coffee with benefits’ can offer!
If you’re a coffee drinker, or even if you’re not, I would highly recommend giving these coffees a try – they taste good, and it’s fun to think about all the extra benefits your body might be gaining just by drinking your morning cup of coffee!
