Looking for a fun activity to do with the kids? Why not make some homemade fluffy slime? Making your own slime at home is like mixing science and fun together! It\u2019s almost magical to see how the slime starts to form as you mix the ingredients, and then it\u2019s so much fun to play with your very own, homemade fluffy slime!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Is Slime?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re not familiar with the concept, “slime” typically refers to a viscous, gooey substance that often has a slimy or slippery texture. It’s commonly used as a recreational material for play and sensory activities, especially among children and in certain DIY crafting communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slime can be made using a variety of ingredients, with the most common recipes involving mixing substances like glue, water, and a slime activator (often borax or saline solution) to create a stretchy and malleable material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Is Fluffy Slime?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fluffy slime is a type of slime that has a light and airy texture, giving it a “fluffy” or cloud-like appearance and feel. It’s a popular variation of traditional slime and is often preferred for its unique tactile experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How To Make Fluffy Slime<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fluffy slime is easy to make, but you do need to have certain ingredients at hand. Our fluffy slime is made \u2018fluffy\u2019 with the addition of shaving cream to give it that light, airy texture. You will also need those regular, typical slime ingredients such as Borax and glue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Begin by making a solution of \u00bd cup of warm water and \u00bc teaspoon of Borax. (You should be able to find Borax in the cleaning aisle of your favourite supermarket.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set this Borax solution aside while you mix together the rest of your fluffy slime ingredients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a large bowl, mix together \u00bd cup Elmer\u2019s Glue (it doesn\u2019t have to be Elmer\u2019s, Elmer\u2019s is just a brand name of typical PVA glue, so any PVA glue will do, although, since the popularity of slime a few years ago, Elmer\u2019s glue is now readily available in most Australian supermarkets), \u00bd cup shaving cream and \u00bd cup foaming hand soap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then add: 1 Tablespoon of cornflour…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A couple of pumps or squirts of hand lotion or body lotion…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And a few drops of food colouring in whatever colour you would like your slime to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then add a small amount of your Borax solution, a little at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s it! As long as you\u2019ve already got the ingredients at the ready, making fluffy slime is very quick and easy, and so much fun to both create and play with!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
